What's the policy on this?
Do we have a policy on the words (sorry gonna have to say them to ask the question, no rudeness intended) retarded and gay being used negatively?

Re: What's the policy on this?
We need to get some better-written rules that actually define rudeness. I would think that as long as it isn't a pointed comment aimed at offending or hurting another member then it would be allowed. But obviously the rules don't definitively say that.

Re: What's the policy on this?
Yuppers, we need more precise rules. I don't really know what I'm talking about, but yeah. "Retarded" and "gay" should only be used when discussing about matters related to the said words, and not as insults. Again, I dunno if that made sense, but yeah! I agree with my thoughts. Whoopee. I should leave before I cause any [more] problems.

Re: What's the policy on this?
I remember a loooong time ago, I suggested to Taylor clearer rules. Now that I have more people to agree, maybe we'll actually get some.
Re: What's the policy on this?
Without clear rules, we're stuck on things like whatever's going on in the "Aaron" topic, whether or not this or that was wrong, if carrots are healthy for monkeys --(baboon;;/?), and if or not heck is a bad word.
For now, we're basically just stuck debating over things when some issue pops up.

I don't see that it should not be allwoed tos ay things like "that movie is gay" - it's not discriminatory or whatever to any member.

Re: What's the policy on this?
Yes, it is rude, and against the rules. I wouldnt say its the worst thing when some says "that movie was gay" but they should still be warned to to use that word again. If they keep it up and continue to do so then more action should be taken

Re: What's the policy on this?
OK gusy basicly Rudeness being any thing that would be considered offenceable, or being mean to another person.
(no offence) but use common scence, i mean we all know what its like if some one is rude. so yes gay or Retard could be Rude, If it offends or PUts some one down.
and Exactly what chis said, if some one is rude Pm them or emssage them a warning if they continue either tell an admin, or if its a chat box thing, take the appropriate messures. DOnt insult them back or somthing, just do what is approproitate, by kicking/warning/banning/ or telling an admin.

Re: What's the policy on this?
So what constitutes rudeness? I would say that unless members are saying things to intentionally offend or hurt other members then they don't deserve to be punished.
These rules are incredibly strit, which is what makes them hard to follow. Most websites allow anything less than flaming/trolling.

Re: What's the policy on this?
I'm not sure. But I think the moderators and Admins need to re-write the rules and soon. Because at this point I think the rules(parody) Andrew and I wrote confuse people less (sorry to say).
It's hard to define the line between humor, voicing thoughts, and rudeness at times.

Re: What's the policy on this?
I read your post, but by your definition, I wouldn't even be allowed to say this. I'm disagreeing vocally with someone with a higher status, and obviously showing no qualms about it. Some would consider that offensive. And besides, you just said what I said in a more confusing and unclear way.
"That movie is gay" is not offending anyone. People say it all the time. Shrug it off. It's not about you, it's about the movie. Nobody said "you are gay because you like that movie".

Re: What's the policy on this?
Yes but if mabey some one how happens to be gay Reads that and takes offence. That would be to Him somthing that is rude. and there For offencive. Basicly Just watch what you say, because people can take somthing like that, that people say every day, but to them it could hurt.

Re: What's the policy on this?
I doubt it. Loads of christians say "Oh my god" and stuff. Some get upset but most go along with or ignore it.
