If you have to ask us, I don't recommend getting one because then you might not want it because you want it. I have to tell you though, they're pretty high maintence for at least a while, but I think they're pretty interesting and unique. I know how to pierce it yourself, but I don't really recommend that either. If you want to get it done, make sure you go to a tatoo parlour, and make sure that you take care of it, because infections are not cool.

I recommend waiting on it. If you do choose to get one you need to get some recommendations on a good shop to go to. When my sister when to get a tattoo she went to the shop first and watched, you really want to check things out for sanitary issues. I don't know if you have other piercings but occasionally people also have issues with being allergic to some types of metals. If you don't wear proper lip jewelry you can end up damaging your gums and teeth. You should check to make sure that the place uses a clean needle and not a piercing gun. I don't know where you live but you should check for a shop with a certificate from the association of profession piercers (link:http://www.safepiercing.org/).
