Re: Marijuana Legality?
I'm tempted to flame you even though we're on the same side to be honest. <.<

Re: Marijuana Legality?
I'll flame ya. Chemically, marijuana isn't addictive. Mentally, anything can be addictive. For example, I'm probably addicted to the internet :/ Of course, there is no chemicals from the computer making me addicted to it; I just really like it.
Re: Marijuana Legality?
Honestly, the people who would abuse it, are already doing it. But I really don't think smoking should even be legal because I don't want to be taking in fumes from everyone else's disgusting habits.

Re: Marijuana Legality?
That's no reason to have it illegal, else we'd have already criminalised tobacco.
Re: Marijuana Legality?
Except that its not fair for non-smokers to get diseases due to smokers. And don't even go off about the "Smokers Areas"; that's just plain weirdness. People don't even respect the "Non-Smoking" areas; they do whatever they want.
Which brings me back to the first question....if they legalized marijuana, it would basically be giving in to people's desires and wants. I guess if we can be manipulated that easily....

Re: Marijuana Legality?
You're completely correct. And that's what's happening right now. However, it has yet to be shown that smoking marijuana can cause any diseases, whereas tobacco smoking has been shown to cause numerous ones such as lung cancer.
Marijuana has been legalised for medical use in California. (It's so easy to get a card, though. All you have to say is that you're depressed, pretty much). They don't have issues with second-hand smoke, or people smoking pot everywhere. You do, however, see that with cigarettes. Why don't we outlaw tobacco? Because this is America. Home of the free.
As for the manipulation... what? This is a democracy. If the people want it, the people vote for it and, theoretically, get it. Democracy is, by definition, giving into the people's desires.

Re: Marijuana Legality?
(Somehow this is changing into a debate about marijuana into a debate about the government XD)
Even though America is known as the "Home of the Free", it's still contradicting itself. If it's known as the "Home of the Free", then everything, from robbing to murder, can happen. If it's known as the "Home of the Free", then we should be able to decide what taxes we want, and decide when WE want to pay money back. No one should be hatin' on any religon or belief, and terrorists. We should all be happy, cause it's the land of the free, right? We decide what we want....
It seems as if everyone is saying, "We've come so far from the start of the nation"; though it seems to be the opposite. Women should be now satisfied with being able to vote (I know I am), but instead they are trying to take control of what men should be leading, like the government (though Sarah Palin=awesomness).
So, either, it can be the "Home of the Free" with no barricades, no boundries, no lines; or it can be a place where laws keep people from killing other people, where laws keep people from getting drunk and crashing cars due to marijuana influence, where laws keep people from destroying each other, and eventually themselves.
My belief (I'm a Christian) is that the world is going to go downhill....there's never gonna be world peace on this earth.

Re: Marijuana Legality?
If murder was allowed, it would infringe upon other's freedom to live. Marijuana doesn't hurt anybody. Sure smoking and driving could cause harm, but it's not within the law.
I'm certainly not suggesting no laws or boundaries. I just don't think that the government should step into our personal lives. So long as it doesn't hurt anybody else, what's the problem?

Re: Marijuana Legality?
No it shouldn't be legalized, nor will it be anytime soon (4-12 years)

lolque? They can still do tests on it. Recent studies have yet to show anything bad about marijuana. No carcinogens, no long-term negative effects, nothing.

"Marijuana smoke has been found to contain more cancer-causing agents than is found in tobacco smoke."
