Well, I think you can correct people's spelling errors if you really want to. But, it would be nice if you tried to be nice about it. And.. you don't have to be obsessed with how other people spell.

Then again, I'm not a big fan of chatspeak for the most part.. so I can kind of see how you feel. But, then again, I just try to let it go when people use chatspeak. I mean I say "lol", "brb" and a couple other things, but I don't like when chatspeak is overused. Oh well, the world is harsh, what with all its spelling errors and chatspeak and bad grammar.. but we all still have to live in it. ^-^ lol <--- see, I used chatspeak.

I don't believe it's wrong, I do it all the time. I correct spelling and grammer, and it ususally results in people not liking me and calling me mean. I'm serious. I threaten to send A-Zach a dictionary all the time.
So at least I'm not the only spelling freak. It's important, well, at least to me it is. "llyke omg haha wuts ^ lol u suc" Gives me a HEADACHE.

No, it's not rude at all, it's educating.

I commonly correct peoples grammar and spelling, however I know mine is not perfect [there are several words I just cannot get through my head to spell right] and I'm also happy to have people point it out to me.

I despise chatspeak. I don't mind a couple small things when its an accident, but when people intentionally write words with less letters then there should be it drives me insane. Like "u", "y" and "b". Instead of "You", "Why", and "Be". I don't think it is wrong to correct peoples grammar normally. Unless you point out every single little thing every time someone spells something wrong.

I can't stand 'u', 'y' or 'b', I'd much rather see a 'gtg' or 'brb'.

It's one or two extra letters, typing out you instead 'u' or be instead of 'b' takes an extra hundreth of a second.

Yeah, I hate that. I think that only happens in a couple of broswers, It's not happening in "google chrome" or Safari, or Firefox from my experience.

It could be better though "I've never heard of firefox, until recently." however "I hadn't heard of firefox until recently." is certainly the most gramatically, verb/noun agreement choice.
